New bikes and a paved road section
This year’s tourist offer in Bela krajina is richer for electric bike rentals by the Kolpa River. In addition, the last 3km section of the state road by the Kolpa River has been paved.

The Slovenian Infrastructure Agency has paved the last 3km long section of the regional road by the Kolpa River between Stari trg and Špeharji. Tourist workers expect more cyclists.
In order to welcome less demanding cyclists, the Municipality of Metlika, the Gostinstvo Turizem Bela krajina Company and Kolpa Landscape Park purchased 25 electric bikes within the framework of the Kolpa E bike project. Bikes are available in Metlika, Adlešiči, Vinica and Stari trg ob Kolpi.
“Bikes can be rented at one location and returned to any other. Both partners will make sure that bikes are available there where users need them,” explained Tončka Jankovič from the Kolpa Landscape Park for Radio Slovenija.
The new offer has been well-received in the area, also thanks to attractive rental prices. The project will be expanded in the future, added Jankovič. “There will also be six charging stations for electric bikes available between Stari trg and Metlika.”
Bela krajina advocates sustainable and green tourism, with minimal impact on the environment. They would also like to welcome visitors with electric cars to the Kolpa River, which is considered to be the longest beach in Slovenia.
